Hello Upwork Community!
I recently encountered an interesting scenario where a client offered me $10 for what they considered "good quality" children's illustrations. Despite investing time, effort, and creativity into delivering top-notch artwork, I found myself questioning the merit of such an offer.
This got me thinking: Is this a reflection of the client's lack of understanding of the value of illustrations, or is it perhaps becoming a norm in the industry? Should we, as freelancers, accept such offers, or is it important to stand firm on the value of our work?
I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this topic:
- Have you encountered similar situations where clients undervalue the effort and skill required for illustrations?
- How do you determine the worth of your work, especially when faced with low-budget offers?
- Is it possible to maintain quality and professionalism while working on lower-budget projects?
Let's dive into this discussion together! Share your insights, experiences, and tips on navigating such situations in the world of freelancing.
Looking forward to your thoughts!
Best regards,
Hafeez

This is freelancing world. What you think high budget may be a low budget for someone else and vice-versa.
If you think it is too low for you to accept, deny it and move on. For sure someone who values your time and money will be there to provide you the job.
