100% JOB SUCCESS YET NO BADGES and Top freelancer badge stripped as I was away.

SO I had a Top RATED badge and that was stripped from me when I had to take time away to deal with my son who suffers from anxiety. When I returned ALL my hard work to achieve it was stripped away. **Edited for Community Guidelines**

This platform does not support working mothers.

AND if that's not BAD enough. Today I see that for some reason despite having 100% job success I no longer have that on my profile despite reviews like this

"Selecting Dotti Colvin to illustrate my first book was undoubtedly one of the wisest decisions I have ever made."

"Awesome like always"

"Dotti is brilliant. She is very creative and her skills are top-notch."

SO what am I doing wrong? Not being glued to it 24 /7? I give you enough of my money Upwork. Come ON! You treat the people you need like **Edited for Community Guidelines**

Dotti, I'm sorry for your situation, but you should not take it personally that you don't qualify for a JSS or top rated any longer. The JSS calculation works the same for each and every freelancer on upwork, and it is not supposed to punish people. If you don't have enough contracts in your 6/12/24 calculation windows, it will disappear.

With a few new contracts, it will get calculated again. Your hard work, your work history, is still there, so you will have a huge advantage over the millions of freelancers who don't have that.

Ahh but it DOES punish people. Surely once you've earned it, it should only be taken away if you fail a job or get a bad review. Look at the criteria below.. the only one I didn't meet when it was stripped was 90 days without a contract as I was juggling family life and couldn't do it. What should I have done, sent proposals I had no intention of following up? Surely that would have been worse. So once my situation was resolved I jumped back on to look for work and see NO top-rated badge. AND it DOES make a difference to clients. It criteria should be reviewed.

Hi Dotti,

I'm sorry to hear about your frustrations regarding losing the Top Rated badge. Please know that in order to maintain this, your account has to follow these criteria:

  • A current Job Success Score of 90% or higher
  • First project on Upwork was more than 90 days ago
  • Maintained Rising Talent status or a Job Success Score of at least 90% for at least 13 of the last 16 weeks
  • A 100% complete profile (90% for those who brought their profiles over from Elance)
  • 12-month earnings of at least $1,000
  • Up-to-date availability (if unavailable now, set a date estimate)
  • An account in good standing with no recent account holds
  • Activity on the platform (proposal, accepted invitation, or earnings) in the past 90 days

Once you meet all these criteria again, you'll get the Top Rated badge. Kindly check this article for more information.
