ALL
I just accepted a contract this morning.
How do I get started?
I uploaded the app for time tracking and sent a message to the offeror accepting and saying I could start tomorrow.
I have looked for answers to this on google and in the UpWork website.
Do I need to wait on the offeror to send me something to get started?
The job is to correct papers from English as a 2nd Language students.
I really appreciate any help. I do not want to delay or be late on my work.
Thanks everyone

Is it an hourly or a fixed price contract? Can you see it on your "My Jobs" page?

Obviously you need the papers that have to be corrected...
Did you not look at the papers before accepting the job? (Always do that!)
Also, never accept a contract until you have what you need to get started!
Have you checked the offer? Most clients send the work attached to the offer.

What have you accepted?
Whatever the job entails, you have talked about it with your client?
You have talked about deliverables?
You know what you have accepted?
If you have done nothing like that, than do. Contact your client about it.
In future, be positive about all aspects of the job before accepting.

Is the client's payment method verified? Do NOT start working until it is and politely let the client know that once their payment is verified. Email him/her on Monday to ask when you will receive the work to be corrected.

Thank you for your time and reply!
I have accepted a clear contract to correct papers from French Engineering
students who are writing papers in English. The tasking is quite clear and
the offeror has several recommendations. He also has about 8K in recorded
payments, so my confidence is Moderate to High. (but I am new).
I have messaged him about turn around time on the papers, but it was this
morning, a Saturday and have not heard back from him.
As far as being positive about all aspects of the job in the future, I have
been at present. No idea where that came from.
Thank you.
Wasn't malicious.
Questions were mostly rhetorical, meant for you to ask them yourself.
You being unsure where to start with your project suggested that you don't have clear idea of how to tackle it.
Usually, it plays out painfully (new user being eager to get that first/second/Nth job accepts a project without thinking; has horrible experience).

It is recommended to never accept a contract without having something to work on, because a number of things could go wrong: the scope of work could be different from what you expect, possibly the client disappears and never sends work, and many other things that end in bad feedback for you. A contract with no deliverables and no money paid is bad for your JSS (job success score) that you will aquire after a few jobs and that is crucial for other clients to make a hiring decision.
