$2M Earned on Upwork. I would love to HELP!

Hey Everyone,

I posted this in the newbie group. I can answer newbie questions there,

I can help answer more advanced questions here, I would love to help my fellow freelancers : )

I have been on upwork for 12 years now (previously elance),

I have been on the forums for a couple years but never really participated much,

I figured, what better way than to help others, ask away, some stats below (you can also click to see my profile)

๐Ÿ‘‰ Earned $2 Million+ on Upwork.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Completed 400+ jobs on freelance platforms.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Attained 200+ 5-star reviews.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Worked 40,000+ hours on freelance platforms
๐Ÿ‘‰ Earned a 100% Feedback Rating
๐Ÿ‘‰ Worked with 1,000+ Clients

Thank You - Sam

Hey Shakila,

Here are some items which I feel will help you out:

1. Great Job on the JSS and Reviews, Keep it up!

2. You have to much details in your introduction. You should limit that. To many icons.

3. Add a video if you can

4. Add more certifications if you can.

5. Expand on your portfolio

6. Have a better Profile image

I need help, I create my account on Upwork, in 2019, and up to now, I didn't get one project. So really I need help.

Thanks

Hey Hamse, I will have a look at your profile in the next couple days and get back to you.

The title is misspelled. Find a better way to specify your skills.

Your presentation only talks about you and should speak to the client, what you can do for them. Take advantage of the first two lines to get their attention.

Your level of English does not seem fluent.

You should do a review of your portfolio, it is scarce and, sorry, it is a bit lacking in quality.

You say you have years of experience, you'll have more to show, right? It's not necessary that they be jobs done on Upwork. If you don't have it, create it but show things with quality. You are in a very competitive niche.

By the way, in your portfolio you have a link in all the items that is wrong, it leads to adding more items to the portfolio.

Deleted due to confusion.

Hey Abida,

Please make your profile public.

Hi Samer,

I have been on upwork for 12 years now (previously odesk & elance). I have compelted more than 100 projects and completed more than 34K hours. But since last 1 year i'm facing problem to get new projects. I'm not getting invitations. Can you please give some suggestions. Here is my profile link:

https://www.upwork.com/freelancers/satendersingh

Hey Satender,

I was in the same spot as you. I stopped getting many invites (a couple / few a week) which made me quickly pivot to just submitting a lot of proposals. That is now the only way honestly. Just submit proposals, your profile is fine.

Thank  you Samer for such a quick response. But the problem is  that project coversion rate is very low when we apply on jobs as compared to invitation. ๐Ÿ˜ž

I understand. I just would not depend on invitations anymore, even I only get 1-2 a week now which use to be 10-20 a week previously. Its now a pay to play platform which means, you need to basically submit proposals, which yes, require connects.

Hello, Samer B, please help me look at my profile, I have not won any proposal since I joined. Please help me

Hey Alfred, I will have a look, thx

Hey Alfred, in general, looks OK

1. add a video if you can

2. add more portfolio items showing more items you worked on

3. add more certifications

4. submit proposals and focus on smaller jobs

Hello Samer B, I would be happy if you help me with my profile. I made minimal changes but it's always best to have a pro look at it.
I would be really happy if you also share some tips for landing my first job.
