Upwork, for the love of God, will you please tell new members what is required to receive the 50 free connects when they sign up. I mean during the registration process. A person can only take so much of the same question being asked 50 times a day. I think it will be giving Tellegram a run for it's money in terms of subjects addressed in this forum.

Somewhere there is aggressive advertising in which newcomers are promised everything for free and many millions of earnings in a week. I think these are some YouTube bloggers or forums. Upwork tells the current situation in the rules but what fool reads them? The blogger said that at this point you need to click the “I read, understand and agree” checkbox and go ahead for your millions!
I'm trying to find out where they saw this, but newbies don't know what a topics is and that there are answers to posts. Them busy to get own huge money.

That would be nice. It would also reduce the burden on the platform/system by eliminating thousands of newly created profiles that are immediately abandoned when a new user decides against paying for Freelancer Plus or 100 Connects.
Then again, some organizations like lofty numbers; even though Upwork never tells us how many freelancer accounts they have.

I'm willing to bet that most of the people who are asking this question have already had dozens of unsuccessful accounts in the past and keep starting new accounts to get free connects; they're not going to bother reading any information that Upwork tries to send them, because they think they already know how things work. (Just look at how many of the complaints start with, "It's been 48 hours and I still haven't received my free connects" - it's obvious that they've done this before. Upwork should be taking a closer look and banning these people.)
Putting a stop to the sign-up connects is the best decision that Upwork has made in years, IMO. The next thing they should do is stop letting newbies see the jobs feed if they haven't bought connects, because I think that dishonest freelancers are increasingly figuring out clients' identities and contacting them off the platform (if you're wondering why a lot of projects don't result in a hire, this is one of the reasons).
