80% of job postings are spam

Most jobs these days are spams. Right now this YouTube link -

**Edited for Community Guidelines**

is being posted as  "reference" work but in reality, it is to increase their video views on YouTube.

They are using multiple accounts with different locations to spam this. They copy paste the exact same description for this.

Isn't there a mechanism in place to automatically delete duplicate postings? Simply flagging these listings would not do anything.

Evidently, there is not a mechanism in place to automatically delete duplicate postings, nor to delete those that mention Telegram or WhatsApp.

This is a very bad thing for Upwork to not handle these spammers. Freelancers wasted thousands of connects on applying for these jobs and some new freelancers also wasted their money. Why Upwork not working on it.

Connects are returned when a job is taken down by Upwork

Following some basic rules they agreed to when they sign up and that are available on the website and on the forum can avoid that.
