About PhD degree affiliation (Dr.) use before name

I would like to inform you that I have created my account with my Ph.D. degree affiliation (Dr.). We usually use this (Dr.) for all official purposes of work. However, Upwork stated that it should be my real name and match with the government ID name. Hence, I changed my name in Upwork without Dr. and now it fully matched with my government ID name. 

Is it the correct way to change the name or How I can contact the Upwork team about this issue? Please help me in this regard.

You can specify your "name-with-title" combination within your profile overview text.

You don't want to try to put "Dr." or any other honorific in your name field, because it will mess up identity verification and financial account matching protocols.

I have created the Upwork account with**Edited for community guidelines**but I changed it from the edit account information in Upwork with**Edited for community guidelines**. Is it an appropriate method to change the name? Is it ok?

I checked your account and it looks like your name change request has been approved. It looks like you were also requested to complete the ID verification process. Please complete it by clicking on the option to "Get Started", which you can find on the notification banner upon logging in to your account.

Hello,

I would like to inform you that I am new freelancers in upwork. I am working on editing and proofreading of documents. I have vast experience on this area and holding a PhD degree. As a new freelancer, currently I have completed successfully one project on upwork and hopefully I will get more job  and help the people in this area.

I have to verify my ID on upwork. Upwork notify me to verify ID within 7 working day and the last date is 19/09/2021. The main problem for me that I am currently living another city and my bank statement and address belong to my current city. However, my government ID address is belong to  previous city where I lived before. Upwork stated that government ID, address and bank statement should be same address. I am trying to change the government ID adress with my current city; however, they said it will take 3-4 weeks time to change the address. 

For the above circumstance, could you please suggest me what I can do now. Is it possible to get extension of verification time from upwork? Will I submit the documents whatever I have in my hands within 19/09/2021 to upwork? Please kindly suggest me or help me in this regards urgently.

Hi Md Habibur Rahman, 

You will need to take a picture of your government-issued ID in order to verify your identity. The acceptable forms of ID vary by country and will be listed on the form.

• This ID must include your picture, signature, name, date of birth, and address, with the exception of passports, which don't need your address
• Acceptable documents include passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria

Note that we cannot accept

• Student IDs, employee IDs, library cards, handwritten IDs, temporary IDs, photocopied IDs, military IDs, and health cards
