Hello Community,
As the title describes, one of my clients accidentally canceled our hourly paid contract. What is the best solution here?
Thank you for your time.

You don’t need to create a new contract.
You already logged your hours.
You will get paid for those hours.
The amount you get paid has nothing to do with how the contract was closed.

Why is that a problem?
If the client has more work for you, they can hire you again.

I finished the work and after that the client should close the contract as completed. Instead he accidentally canceled it.
First of all my main concern if this will impact my Job Success score, if not we can open a new contract this is not a problem. But if it impacts my Job success score then it is a problem.

Your primary concern is about impact on JSS.
There is no impact on JSS.
You have nothing to worry about.
There are different words and phrases one might see on Upwork:
Close contract
End contract
Cancel contract
It is all the same thing. It doesn’t matter which one you see. No difference in how it affects JSS.

It does not matter.
It does not cost anything to close a contract.
It does not cost anything to create a new contract.
If the client created five hourly contracts in a row and cancels then before the freelancer logs any time, it costs the client zero money.
So if a client closes or cancels a contract, the client just needs to create a new contract and hire the freelancer again.

I had logged 2 hours and when the job finished instead of closing it as success, he canceled it

It doesn’t matter.
My cousin wanted to get married in the Fall.
His fiancé wanted to get married in Autumn.
It does not matter.

So the best solution is to open a new contract and log again the hours or the money will be accepted from this one?
Thank you for your fast responses.
