Activity on job

Hello All,

Is it possible for a client to post a job, without the intentions of sending invites or hiring any freelancer?

I have submitted proposals for numerous jobs, but I noticed some client activities on the jobs are usually zero.

no invite was sent.

no interview.

no interaction with the job post for days/week.

Of course it is possible. Upwork can't force a client who has posted a job to hire anyone. There are loads of reasons why a client may not hire anyone: None of the applicants appealed or the client found someone on a different platform or in house or the project fell through or there was an emergency or all sorts of other reasons.

That does not mean there wasn't any "intention" of hiring someone.

And "invitations" are when clients proactively invite freelancers that didn't apply / send a proposal. Many clients hire freelancers without ever sending any invitation to apply. They just interview freelancers who applied and hire one or more of them.

Upwork show you the client's hire rate and you can use that to decide whether to apply or not.
