Adding a VAT number to the freelancer account

Hi,

I have been wondering how to add a VAT number to the Upwork freelancer account as an Estonian company. This freelance account is associated with this company and completes all the tasks on its behalf.

We have been previously said that the freelancer name and the company name should be the same in order to add a VAT number to the Upwork freelancer account. However, as far as we are concerned there are still cases when it was actually possible.

If it is the case, I would highly appreciate it if someone could kindly suggest how to do that?

Hi Kateryna,

You can add your company VAT number as long as the option and the field are shown on your Settings > Tax Information page. For more information about VAT, you can check out this help article.

You will find that it'll be declined as a country and name mismatch. The VAT number has to be for the country you are in.
