Adjusting Escrow Amount

I have hired a freelancer and need to adjust the amount held in escrow to reflect the new job (which is less than previously thought). How do I make that adjustment?

Just release the lesser amount as and when the job is finished and when you close the contract, request for the balance to be returned to you, or use the balance for the next milestone.
