All chat messages removed

Hi,
I was mistakenly engaged in a contract with a client which turned out to be a scammer. 

For investigation, Upwork restricted my profile for a few days and when I get back my account access, all chat messages were removed from account. These chats were of previous clients and potential leads, which I have lost now. 
Is there any way I can get back my chat messages?

It can't be restored but the client will see that you have joined back the room and can message you if they want to continue with your service. Always be cautious when starting a new contract. Do interviews if needed to prove client
