Any job type for recurring monthly payments?

Hello All!

One of my client wants to hire me full time on fixed monthly payment, does Upwork has any type of job where customer can be billed automatically with recurring payments?

Fixed price contracts will be too time consuming for client, he doesn't want to do that.

He doesn't want to continue on hourly contract as he wants to pay me fixed amount regardless of how many hours I worked? We both have agreed a fixed amount.

But problem is which contract should my client start so that he shouldn't do too much every month to pay me, should be auto payments?

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Anish

I guess we will have to manage with existing contract.

There is a way to achieve what your client and you want.

It is not possible to do a fixed monthly payment, but it is possible to do a fixed weekly payment.

Your client needs to end the current contract and set up a new hourly contract. On the contract page the client needs to choose Contract type: Hourly

On the next page the client should set the weekly limit to 0 hours

Then click on Advanced Options and set up a weekly payment which will be paid every week, and stay the same regardless of how many hours you worked. You can still track the time provided the client remembered to set the weekly limit to 0 hours. Those hours will not be billed (as over the limit) but there will still be a work diary if your client wants it.

Hi Anish,

We have only fixed price contracts and hourly contracts. Your client can set up a milestone with a monthly budget and release the funds to you once a month. On hourly contracts your client will be automatically billed every Monday. If your client needs further help he can contact us here or our Customer support and we will assist him/her further, thank you!

Thanks for your reply. This sounds like most closest to what we need.

Hi,

My contract was changed to this one. Will i receive a fixed pay every week? even if it still counts the time i spent on the tracker? For example i only have 10 hours on my clock which is $70 as my rate but the pegged Fixed weekly payment is $140. Which one will it be? Will i get paid $140 or $70?

Thanks!

Hi Juvine,

You will be paid both the hours you logged on the contract, and the Weekly Payment. I would recommend that you clarify with the client if they intended that you be paid weekly on top of the hours you log on your Work Diary.

Hello Petra,

Does this still work,

My client wants to hire me on a weekly salary but he also want a work diary.
SO can we use a weekly reccurring payment and i can track my hours(not to be paid).

Please Advise,
Regards:

Yes- What the client needs to do is to set the weekly salary AND set the maximum number of weekly hours to 0 (important, as otherwise the client WILL be charged)

That way all your tracked hours show as "overtime" and are not charged, but you till get the wweekly salary/payment.

Do be aware that there is no Upwork payment protection for such a setup.

Hey Petra and others, If i get paid like this, on weekly basis and not by tracking time, how is it gonna look like in my profile? suppose the hourly rate is $10, but the weekly payment is $100. So how many hours will be added in my profile as total hours worked?
