App Translation and Profereading Jobs - Something doesn't seem right.

A prospective client for Proofreading has sent links to the app to be reviewed, instead of a document with the original text and translation to be profread.

They inform me I have to dowload the app to see if I'm able to do the job. 

I am concerned it is not ligitimate and I have seen many job openings like this. Is this a scam or am I paranoid? I don't want to breach Upwork's rules.

That sounds very suspicious! The app is probably dangerous. Proofreading jobs don't require special apps and this is a pretty common scam technique.
