Are the details on a "private" offer visible on my Upwork profile?

Hello Upwork family and friends!

I have a question:

If a client sends a private offer, are the details visible on my Upwork profile once I accept the offer?

The concern is that I have recently increased my hourly rate.

The client is an old one who has a short project for me to work on. He uses Time Doctor to log hours and then pays on an Upwork fixed rate contract. I've never had any problems with him paying, so I suggested the same again. However, now he wrote the lower hourly rate in the job description (among other things). I do NOT want it there, so I told him to kindly remove it.

However, he's telling me that the offer is a private one, so no one will see the details. I insisted that he edit the same and I will then accept. Please advise. I thank you all very much.

Sincerely,

Sophia.

Hello Petra!

Thanks a lot for your quick assistance as usual!

Can you tell me how I would know that it's a private offer from my end?

Is there a public job post associated with the offer? If not, it's private.

The client is right.

Only the job title will be visible, the description will not.

No need to try and make the client do anything.

Hello Petra!

No, I searched his open jobs by the company name (that's on my contract) and there is no job offer with my contract's title. Whew!

Thanks a lot!
