Automatically payment schedule

Dear Odesk Team,

I dont like it this Schedule payment thing.

I have not plan to withdraw payment yet.
The amount is very small its cast me when I withdraw it. I don't want to pay withdraw fee  on small amount.

I dont want to use this option.

Thanks

Arslan

Hi Arslan,

I understand that you do not want your available earnings to be sent to your payment method according to your current Payment Schedule. I would suggest you go to your Settings>Get Paid and Edit your Payment Schedule. You can choose to be paid quarterly and only when a balance is $1000 or higher for example.

I hope it helps.

Upwork

These are the things why we love Elance and don't want to marge Both plateforms (Elance+Odesk as Upwork)....  Elance  allow the freelancer to withdrow the money when they need and don't force freelancers to set schdules for withdrow funds. If Elance offer these feature then why Upwork not?

Hi Khandad,

On Upwork you are also able to withdraw your available funds or some of them whenever you want to by going to your Settings and clicking Get Paid. You don't have to wait until your earnings are withdrawn automaticaly according to your Payment Schedule.

But then we get charged to withdraw. Why is this necessary? Almost nowhere charges you to withdraw to PayPal or through LFT these days. Is Upwork planning to abolish these outdated fees?

Hi Fergus,

When withdrawal fees apply, they apply regardless of whether the funds were withdrawn automatically or manually.

I am not aware of any immediate plans to change the policies regarding withdrawal fees. If anything changes we will definitely let the Community know.

Thank you for your feedback.

I need to have possibility to withdraw only manually as I need to put specific invoice number to each transaction which I cannot do with schedule withdrawal. Or at least increase limit to for example $10000. So I can withdraw anytime even after it should happen by schedule.

Hi Aleksandr,

Thanks for the input. In that case, please make sure to set a quarterly payment schedule and withdraw your balance before the due date.

Hi. As I said it's not always possible/needed to withdraw before due date. Is it anyhow I can vote for increasing the limit or disabling schedule withdraw?

No. Upwork is not allowed to act like a bank account, so legally they can not hold funds in unlimited amounts for longer times. This is why the schedules are what they are and the limit is what it is.

You charged everywhere, like from getting project you start that. 5% from the payment and 4.99% from withdrawl. Totally unsatisfied ๐Ÿ˜ž

What on earth are you talking about?

My available balance was less than $1000 but it is still withdrawn to my bank account on Scheduled payment date today. I have already contacted CS to cancel this withdrawal request but what could have been the reason to process the withdrawal when the available balance is less than $1000?

Hi M Ahsan,

According to regulations Upwork is not able to hold freelancers' funds indefinitely. That's why if any of the funds on your account are over 180 days old, the balance will be disbursed into your payment method, regardless if they met the threshold you selected for your payment schedule.

 Hi Valeria,

I got a reply from CS and yes I understand it now. I think this information should be added to Settings>Get Paid page, where we set the threshold for scheduled payment.

Thanks.
