Hi Bikramjit,

Thank you for your message. I understand your concern regarding the ranking of your proposal if you're outbid by other users. If you are outbid and your Boosted Proposal didn’t lead to an eligible interaction, you won’t be charged for boosting your proposal and your proposals will appear with all other proposals below the boosted proposals. We cannot guarantee that it will be ranked in 5th place as the default order is by relevance, based on the information available to us. Clients will have the option to scroll down to see all of the proposals and will be able to sort them as well using different criteria.

Yes, Upwork failed to create an algorithm that will effectively boost proposals based on freelancers' achievements. As a client I have paid over $20k, I can clearly see unqualified freelancers at the top, and even below 5th and 6th places in all my job posts. Their profiles are often unimpressive, with one or two uninformative lines. Most of the boosted freelancers are from Ukraine it seems Upwork supports them, and it's extremely tough for genuine freelancers to stand out. When you boost and outbid, you end up at the bottom and all your connections are wasted there is a ridiculous load more button which is only dependent on the client whether he presses the loadmore button and loads other personal or not  This is why I've stopped working as both a client and a freelancer. Unfortunately, this is why Upwork continues to decline.

That isn't true. Your bid MAY end up at the bottom, but not definitely.

When you are proposal outbid, it will be sent through the last position which is frustrating this is 100% true. I had a job post a few days ago in the middle of it all, I was surprised to find that certain freelancers, who were not very good, remained stagnant at the 5th and 7th positions. Despite their subpar proposals, they did not move. On the other hand, I decided to select a freelancer from the bottom of the list, and they turned out to be highly professional. So, it's important to search diligently to find the best talent. Upwork may not be doing enough to ensure fair hiring, as they are just throwing proposals out there. This may be the reason why clients are not hiring or are dissatisfied with the results. logarithm is not working based on achievement this is true,

You might be in fifth place, or you might be in last place - there's no way for you to know.
