Bank Account Verification Fee

Hi,

I'm new to Upwork and although I've made my account and added my bank details, Upwork has asked me a fee for verifying the details and upon completing the verification process they'll reimburse me for that. That's fine by me.

What I'd like to know is that does one have get the bank details verified first and then proceed to working or is it that I can start working and upon completion of my project when I get paid, Upwork will deduct their bank verification fee alongside their commission for the particular project.

In other words; can I start working now or do I have to get this bank account details verified first?

You can start working as soon as your profile is/was approved. No need to wait for the bank account to be verfied yet.
