Is there any way to withdraw the bonus without waiting for the five-day security period?

Thanks for reaching out to us. You need to wait for the standard 5-day security period. All manual payments, including milestones and bonuses, become available 5 days after the payment is successfully processed.

Is this also true if you are a Top Rated Plus freelancer? It seems odd that Upwork would still place a 5 day hold on manual payments made by the client. Especially now.

Yes, the wait period applies to TR and TR+ also.

The freelancer's status doesn't really impact whether the client's payment method is secure. The holding period is to protect Upwork from payment failures, yes?

Yes, however, long time Upwork clients who make manual payments doesn’t seem cause for extended holds. Especially since the same clients regular payments are released early Top Rated Plus freelancers. The automatic payment isn’t any less secure than the manual payment.
