Bringing client to upwork for 0% fee

Hi Upwork team.

I work with one client for a while now, and I aksed him if he wants to work through the Upwork from now on, but he told me he already have an account.
Does it mean that we can not have 0% fee, because he is not new here and he already have an account? Or I can still get applied 0% fee on our contract?

Correct. The 0% is only for clients you bring to the platform, not those already here.
