I think this topic has already been commented, but I can not find it.
It's about "Bringing your own client to Upwork" or "Bringing your own freelancer"
In short, I work with a client in another portal. Neither he nor I knew that we both had accounts here.
To him, apparently, he likes to work through Upwork and he has told me to work here.
Problem, if we start working here, my fees with him would start at 20%, when on the other site, I am close to reaching 3.5%.
Does anyone know if there is any kind of "discount" on the fees if we move our work here even if both of us already have accounts open?
Of course, if it is not, I will not change the portal.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Hi Petra,
Thank you for the confirmation (you're fast)
It was what I supposed, it's a shame, we'll keep working out of here 🙂

Seems to me it would be to UW's advantage to offer some incentive to gain access to what is evidently a strong, durable and profitabe FL-client relationship. Otherwise, the work stays on another platform and UW gains nothing.

Maria,
See this thread.

I recall getting an email with a referral link a few months back. I believe you can reach back to upwork support for your unique link.
Hope that helps 🙂

That does not apply when the client already has an account on Upwork.

Hi Maria,
Unfortunately, since you and your client both have accounts on Upwork, you are not eligible for those programs.
You can still send a link to your profile to your client and they can hire you for a contract. You'll be paying standard Service Fee.

Hello,
I have received a notification on my Upwork profile that I can invite my clients on Upwork for 0% fee but I haven't received any email.
Can you please send me the link so I can take next steps.
Thank you.
