Bug in consultation feature

I have just cancelled a consultation project scheduled with a client due to take place in a couple of days, as he became unresponsive when agreeing on the scope of the consultation during the last 7 days. I did this to make sure that he was fully refunded and to avoid any disappointment due to his lack of communication.

I have just received an email from Upwork saying the the client has cancelled the consultation instead, which is surprising, as it is the opposite. I canceled this consultation. 

The text of Upwork's email is:

" Unfortunately, XXX canceled their consultation on July 07, 2023. We'll refund their payment because it was more than 24 hours before your consultation." 

I received a similar message in the chat related with this contract.

Is this a bug? I would appreciate any advice, thank you.
