Can I ask payment through bonus for additional tasks instead of creating a new project ?

I have completed a job a few weeks ago.
My client comes to me with some additional tasks and wants to pay for it.
Can I ask him to make payment through a bonus for the previous project instead of creating a new project?

Yes.

As a freelancer I have often been paid by a client using a bonus payment made using an already-closed contract.

This is perfectly acceptable.
