Can I assign work time to previous day

I"m new at this. I'm entering time/tasks manually on a client project. I forgot to enter yesterday's time/tasks. Can I add that today and assign it to yesterday?

Thanks for any help.

Hi William,

You can add manual time by following the steps noted here.

Just as Michael has shared, you can only add manual time during the Work Week (Monday to Sunday). Once the Work Week ends, the Work Diary locks for the clients review. You may refer to this help article to understand how payments are processed on your account. and to know when you can edit your Work Diary before the client's review.

As far as I know, you can edit your work diary until the work-week ends.

Do be aware, however, that manual hours are not covered by Upwork's payment protections. The only way you're protected is if you use the time tracker in the desktop app, and you have sufficient "activity levels" during each period.

Thanks for the reply. I can't seem to figure out out to do this.

Thank you for the link. It was very helpful. Being new, it leads me to another question.

When time tracking is on, the app is recording my screen image, key strokes and mouse moves? Is it capturing potential hours of screen time, key strokes and mouse moves? Where does this information go? I assume it's not real-time monitoring that streams out to the client. Or is it?

Thank you.

As to not being able to add time to Tuesday, did the contract actually start Tuesday UTC? You may be in a timezone where it was Tuesday for you, but Wednesday UTC. You can simply change the timezone to yours when looking at your work diary.

It captures the screenshot of the moment it takes the shot (once in every 10 minute segment) - It is not "live streaming" - It also records the mouseclicks per minute and 10 minute segment. The client can see your work diary much like you can. He can see the screenshot and the activity levels. Bit like this: (Screenshots blanked out)

Thank you! The UTC time issue was the issue! I can now access all the days I need to. Thank you so much. -- William

Also, thank you for the information on the screen recording. Seemed liked of Orwellian!

Just go into the Work diary and click on the Calendar sign (you should find it next to the today's date) and choose the date for which you want to enter the hours manually.

Thank you for the pointers. When I do that, the calendar app only allows me to go back one day. I started work on Tuesday, but can only go back to Weds. I posed the question on Wednesday, thinking I need to only go back one day; I'm just trying this now, but now I need to go back 2 days.

See attached. Tuesday, the 26th is grayed out and not accessible?

Well, if you have started a contract on Tuesday, I believe you cannot input hours on that day since it is gray, perhaps the time when it was started has something to do with it, or how different time zones are calculated. Just enter as much available hours you need on Wednesday, you also have time until Sunday, explain in the field that it was for the previous work already done.
