Can I change my individual account to an agency account?

Hi,

I have been working on Upwork for 6 months and I am doing quiet well. I was looking for permanent hourly jobs when I started and that is exactly what I have been doing. My question is now that I have a permanent job, can I change my individual account into an agency and still keep my existing contracts?

I want to branch out and take on multiple permanent contracts and hire people to work on them. I know that I can manage a team and deliver quality work for my customers. As of now, I do not want one full time job to be the highest limit of success here on Upwork. Can anyone guide me please?

Hi, this is what help and support shows:

1. Click the account drop-down menu at the top right and choose Settings

2. Select the "My Teams" option

3. Click the "Create New Account"

4. Select the "New Freelancer Agency Account" option and fill out the form

but I don't know much more than that.

Hope it helps!

Hi Waqas,

While you can talk with your clients to close your contracts under your freelancer profile and hire you under your agency, you can't transfer them or any closed contracts.

Please keep in mind that in this case the fee will be reset as well. To learn more about creating an agency check out this Guide. Thank you.
