Can I use client reviews elsewhere?

angelajean04

So I am working on a writer website ( I feel really old school that this is the first time I've done it!) but I'm wondering if I can use the positive feedback I've got from clients as quotes on my website... Is it kosher?

It's in the public domain so I don't see why not. If you feel any way doubtful though, why not just ask them to be sure?

I have used some of the reviews I've gotten here on my website.

I usually ask the clients first and so far, no one has said no. Since it's already on the web, most won't care.

In fact, I often ask if I can use a copy of their book cover to connect to their reveiw and they're more than happy to do this. It also shows that the review is coming from a real person since people can see the author and even google their book.

I'm an editor so my situation may be a bit different.
