Can client still send an offer even if the job post was closed?

Hi there,

I have this one job post i applied after a few minutes the client get back to me and seems that its all good aside from he didn't send me an offer yet.He told me we'll talk later but after few minutes i received notification that the job was closed.I am just wondering if a client can still send you an offer if the job post was closed?

The client will need to have an open job in order to send an offer to his/her prospective freelancer/s.
