Can't log in on desktop app

I've already uninstalled the old Upwork app and reinstalled the new (version 5.4.9.6), but keep getting an error "An unknown error has occured". I'm not connected to any other services through my Upwork account either. It happens both when I try to log in with my email or my username. 

I've tried putting a request in for support, but the support webpage keeps going back to the homepage if I try to look something up or try to look at my requests, both in Safari and Chrome. 

I'm currently running macOS Catalina 10.15.4
