As a freelancer, I want to work for free for beginning. Can I put up a project on Upwork with zero charges ?

I believe client cannot get the work done for free. Moreover no earning on upwork will have negative impact on your various suucess measure like JSS. You always look at community forum for answers Free work Upwork

You MAY WORK FOR FREE.

You may work for free at a local community center or church or mosque or school or homeless shelter. There are many opportunities to VOLUNTEER available in your community.

Upwork is NOT an opportunity to work for free.

You can set small amount to follow rules. Free works not allowed but cheap is allowed.

Your rate is like almost free.  No one has been successful on upwork working for free or at a very low rate.

Your rate  advertises that you are desperate for work.  Only cheapo buyers would hire you and will extract more work without paying.  Or the scammers will be attracted and you could lose your own money.
