Just be careful. Especially if a client sends files in one of the ancient file formats, .doc, .xls etc. They are infamous for containing trojans. Many companies and public authorities in Germany meanwhile block these old formats. They are outdated since 2007, when they were replaced by .docx, .xlsx etc. but still used by some. If I have to download these outdated file formats I always run them through https://www.virustotal.com/#/home/upload although I have a virus scanner installed. Better safe then sorry.
