Yup...flag. I've had this happen a few times. Smarter tricksters don't mention the word free. 😉 They just say they "need to see the article first" before "hiring" in order to "make sure it's a good fit" or...whatever. The "test" motif seems to be a popular one as well.
Anyway, MOST clients I've come across are legitimate; they're regular people, just trying to get a job done...like we freelancers are. But when clients like the above pop up, all you can really do is flag the job. You're being helpful if you do, though, so I'd suggest it. I don't believe in flagging willy-nilly but in this case it's kind of obvious.
