Client Activates Milestone lower than the agreed - What to do?

Hi amazing people.

I have done a project of 18,850 to a customer. The price would be $377 total.

The client created a milestone only $40.

To help the customer, I have done all the job and delivered to him.

But until present moment, no changes neither any payment.

What do you think or do if it happened to you?

If a client funds $ 40 worth of work, I submit $ 40 worth of work.

Because if the client vanishes, I will be paid for $ 40 worth of ork only...

18,850 of what?

Oh, excuse me. 18.850 word of SEO optimized content in Brazilian Portuguese.

If the client only funded $ 40, that's all you get unless the client comes back and pays the rest.

What would I do?

$40 is $40.

If I worked on a $40 milestone, then I would say thank you for the $40 payment and that would be the end of it.

Click the submit button. Get paid, and that will be the end of it.

If you haven't already properly submitted the milestone (using the "submit for payment" function) feel free to submit a request for $ 37 by editing the amount you request. If the client approves that, the $ 40 will be released and the client's payment method charged for the remaining money.

If the client does nothing, you get paid $ 40 after 14 days.

Oh yes.

I have resent the milestone with the right price $559.00, because I have done more 9,100 words in a second project. Then, the total are 27,950 words.

Since yesterday, no answer from the client.

But, really, I hope I have learned the lesson.

Thank you 🙂

I appreciate the fact that you have a positive attitude and you are willing to learn.

If it makes you feel any better, this is a very common mistake that new freelancers make. But typically they only make this mistake once.
