Client Asking for UpWork UserID

Hello UpWork Community,

 I am very new and currently working on a contract.

The client is directing me to a site outside of UpWork, a portal, used to complete the task and they are requiring that I give my UpWork UserID. As I understand it, this ID is only for UpWork's internal use. Am i being scammed?

I did a quick search but found nothing on the subject. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Not necessarily.

• Are you properly hired? (There is a contract on your My Jobs page )
• Does the client have goodd history hiring on Upwork?

Yes to both questions. So I guess my fear is unfounded.

Chances are it's only to link the work you do on the other platform to your Upwork account.

Clearly still be careful and (obviously) don't use the same password on that platform and on Upwork.
