Client Funds a Lesser Amount in Escrow

Hi everyone,

I received an offer this morning. I had applied for a job and received her message this morning with an offer.

Before the offer, we agreed a different amount, but the offer states a lesser amount funded in escrow.

I'm confused whether the client is playing safe or it was a mistake from her end. To me, it sounds weird.

How could you agree on $250 and only see $5 in escrow with an estimated budget client of $200?

Please help me out and let me know if that is normal and what I should do. I feel like not touching the offer until I hear from the client, as well as your suggestions.

If the escrow payment is $5, then you will be paid $5 for the work.

The budget doesn't matter.

Promises don't matter.

If $5 is not enough, then don't do the work. Because $5 is all that you will receive.
