Hello Upwork Community,
A client's payment for an hourly contract did not go through and I forgot to use memo while tracking time.I was sent a message by upwork saying the my client's payment was unsucessful and I am not eligible for hourly protection because of insufficient memos (which is understandable), They also said they have reversed the time to the client and I should ask the client to pay via a bonus. I told the client this and he said when he adds money to the card, Upwork will debit him and automatically pay me. I wanted to know if that is true.

It's not true. The client has to resolve the issue and then pay you a bonus proactively. The client may be more motivate if they understand that they can not use the work until it is paid for,
