Client asking for refund and threatning to give bad review

Hello,

I am really worried, because i have been working for a client since last month, he pressurized me to work day and night and still telling me that everything is my fault. Today he asked for a refund and said that, i have to refund a big amount because i wasted time of 4 people. He threatened to give me bad review. He has done this in the past. I want to close this job at this point because i am afraid if i work for another month and i have to give refunds and get a bad review i am not getting anywhere. How can upwork help me in this situation?

Yumna, the beauty of being a freelancer is that you can fire clients who are not treating you right.

Politely inform your client that you are no longer available to work with them. Close the contract. If the client leaves poor feedback use your top rate perk to remove it (provided you have not used it in the last 3 months and 10 contracts) from the JSS calculation and/or your profile.

Hi Yumna,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Could you please send me PM with more details about this client or screenshots of messages, so that we can assist you further!

Yumna - first of all your client is threatening you, so you must report him to CS. (I have flagged this post, in the hopes that a moderator will help you)

Second of all, as your client is blackmailing you, stand very firm and refuse to refund him. This will probably lead to a dispute, but you must still stand strong and do everything Customer Support tells you to do, but don't give in.

There is not a lot at this stage that Upwork can do for you, but I hope the mods will give you some good advice as to how to take it from here.

Upwork. There are some serious issues at play here - not least, discrimination against women and women who are not in a position to fight back.

I am not top rated can I still remove a negative feedback. I have 37 jobs with 3 starts

re: "I have 37 jobs with 3 stars"

Farheen:

You have 37 jobs completed. Nearly all of them have 5 stars.

There are many great compliments there.

There is one single job which is under 4 stars (3.6), which is apparently what you are referring to.

Your Upwork work history is a history that you can be proud of. If you can't remove that 3.6-star review, don't worry about it. No reasonable client would by bothered by that. Nobody in the world is a perfect match for every client out there.

No you can't, but your only poor feedback is on page 3... Clients don't go that far back and even if they did, it really would not matter

Didn't know about this perk, thanks : )
