Client asking my ID for the interview

Hi, 

I got an invitation for an online interview on Upwork from a potential client with a verified payment method and lots of money spent in Upwork. The client wants my ID card, passport or other photo document present in my interview for security reasons. I imagine it being asked so that they can verify it is really me in the interview. Is this okay?
