You said you have a cancel button that closes the window. Use it. The request will eventually go away. You may want to also send a brief message to the client saying "Our dispute was resolved and ended, therefore I am declining the request for any further refund" or somthing like that.

Upwork really need to program a "decline" button for this. Obviously Upwork did that on purpose to try and coerce freelaners into giving clients money...
Just ignore it, it'll stop nagging you eventually.
