Client asks for a full refund after a dispute

Hi there!
I have a weird situation going on here.

I had contacted the support a week ago and we had a dispute.
Reason: the client was rude, insulted me, and was refusing to pay for the work.
ID# 25920815
The Upwork mediation specialist decided that client should pay me a part of the contract fee.
And the client did.

Today he somehow asked for a FULL refund.
How is that possible? What do I do?
Do I work for free on Upwork and even get poor feedback after completed the job (yeah, he left terrible feedback)? I just don't get it!

How can someone who was rude and insulted a freelancer ask for a full refund after a finished dispute!?

I don't see such a button

You said you have a cancel button that closes the window. Use it. The request will eventually go away. You may want to also send a brief message to the client saying "Our dispute was resolved and ended, therefore I am declining the request for any further refund" or somthing like that.

The client can "ask" and you can decline.

Decline.

Is there a button for it?
Because I don't see any.
The only buttons I have when I open this refund request are "cancel" (it just closes the window, it dosn't decline the request) and "Submit"

No, just cancel it until it stops popping up again.

Thank you, Petra.
I told him that.
However, the request is not going anywhere. Whenever I click the cancel button it redirects me to the contract page. The request is still in our conversation and it seems like I can't decline it.

Upwork really need to program a "decline" button for this. Obviously Upwork did that on purpose to try and coerce freelaners into giving clients money...

Just ignore it, it'll stop nagging you eventually.
