I saw today a job post where the client write that he will pay only by bonuses at the end of the month ( through upwork but nor fixed-price or hourly). And when i see the reviews some freelancers complain that the system is very bad for them and the client pay late.

It is ok for Upwork to tolerate such a way to pay freelancers ? How the freelancer is protected ?

The freelancer is not protected at all in such a situation, but as adults freelancers need to protect themselves and do their due diligence before agreeing to any contract. A contract like this does not violate the terms of service. If freelancers decide to agree to clearly laid out terms of a contract that is their right and their responsibility.

Hi Olivier,

The payment structure this client is offering is not a ToS violation but does mean that the contract won't be covered by Upwork Payment Protection, since bonus payments don't qualify.

Upwork should allow freelancers as much freedom as possible. Including the freedom to make bad decisions.

Please do not tie up the valuable time of Upwork representatives by reporting jobs which violate your own personal preferences or beliefs, yet which do not violate Upwork rules.
