The job is now listed as 'not completed successfully' and thus damages my good reputation (100% job score) while I really wanted to complete the project and messaged him multiple times. So, is there a way to get rid of this project in my working history/delete it?

You can certainly increase your JSS. Just close projects successfully. The more you close with positive public and private feedback, the less this will count towards your JSS.
Next time, don't accept the project until you have everything you need to get started.

Were you top-rated before the contract closed without payment and when did you close the contract? TR freelancers have a perk that allows them to remove one bad contract from their metrics, but the time in which to use the perk is very brief after your JSS drops.
The problem in your situation is not just that you have one non-paying contract but that the contract represents 1/5 of your total performance. Are you working on other projects that may close soon and provide you with positive feedback?

Where are you seeing anything like that?

Is it a fixed rate or an hourly contract? How long has it been open?
Essentially, the only way to render that contract harmless is to get paid something (anything in excess of $ 1)

No you don't understand.
I had/have everything ready to get started but the customer simply rejects
to respond at all.
You simply submit through the contract (if fixed rate) or track your time (if hourly) and get paid. Once you have been paid, it doesn't hurt your JSS.
Clients don't have to reply to you. They just have to pay.
