Client ended contract because of misunderstanding

Hi everyone, out there, 
Recently, I had a situation where client messaged me and after sometime, he cancelled the contract. When I came online I saw that contract was cancelled by the client. I asked him about this, he said that I did not replied him so he thought that I am ignoring him and hence he cancelled the contract, but when he messaged me I was travelling (so I was unavailable at that time) and I explained everything to him, and now he wants to work again on the same project. But now I don't want to work with him as he is very unprofessional.

Now my concern is that because of his misunderstanding, he must have given bad feedbacks which will effect my profile that too without even making any mistake, so what shall I do now?  any suggestions?

Pls help me

You can use your top-rated perk to remove the job from your JSS calculation, provided you haven't already used it in the last 3 months or 10 jobs. You could wait until the next JSS update to see how big an effect the job has. If it reduces your JSS below 90, then definitely use your perk, so you don't lose your top-rated status.

Normal you jnow such clients will always show up but at time u have to ignore their professional status and do what you have to do.so as for me I think u should singn up for the project again.

 Nothing was ever paid on the contract, so the client can't leave feedback. Nothing to worry about except a decrease in your JSS, because upwork interprets this situation as a unhappy client. (see a million other posts on how this is fair or not) 

Never work with clients you don't want to work with, that never ends well. 

So now I will lose my JSS that too without any of my mistake, is there any way to avoid that?

Not now. Not for THIS contract.

If your actions led to a negative outcome, then by definition, you made a mistake.

You did not intentionally do something wrong. You did not do anything immoral or dishonorable. Nevertheless, you made a mistake. You made a tactical error.

 

This is very much a GOOD THING.

 

Because it means you can learn from your mistakes and do better in the future. If this was truly out of your control, that would be bad, because it would mean there's nothing you can do about it.

YES!

For FUTURE contracts, you can make sure that you don't accept contracts that you are not ready to log time for immediately, and thus ensure payment is associated with the contract. Thus you will not have a zero-pay contract, which is something that negatively impacts JSS.

 You will not lose your JSS because it will not go under 50% because of this, it might decrease a little bit.

I have never used it, can u pls tell me how to use this top rated perk?

As a Top Rated freelancer, you can request to remove feedback from your (JSS) for one ended contract at a time. Additionally, you can choose whether to remove a client's public rating and comment (if any) from your profile.To learn more about this check out this Help Article and if you have any questions let me know. It was probably a mistake to accept the job and then be out of contact without notifying your client. Communication is part of the gig.

 Oh come on!

Do you inform your clients every time you step away from the computer?

If it really WAS a matter of 30 minutes (his English is poor so "travelling" may mean "I was on the bus for 10 minutes") then obviously there would be no need to "tell the client" anything. Freelancers are not a 24 / 7 facility.
