Martina is correct:

Freelancers get paid for the hours that they log.

Closing a contract has no effect on getting paid.

It doesn't matter if the client or freelancer closes the contract.

It doesn't matter when the contract is closed.

Also: Clients may close a contract at any time. Freelancers may close a contract at any time. No warning or advance notice is required.

No rules are violated when a client or freelancer closes a contract.

re: "I do not see a purpose in this option to allow ending of the contract and thereby deleting the manualy added hours worked."

Closing a contract does not delete manually added hours.

What in the world are you talking about? Just because a client ends a contract doesn't mean you will not get paid! You will!

I guess I was under the assumption the hours get deleted from an old post on here and also because the hours weren't there when I checked, now the hours are there, and now I can see all of them in Lifetime Billed per Client. I guess database updates are slow, idk.

Thank you for updating us after you found that you hours were still there.

I'm glad that you will be paid for all of the time that you logged.

I am wondering how Upwork recover payment from client if they close contract.Like in case of fix price payment save in escrow what is procedure for payment in case of hourly base. How Upwork get payment from client.

I will not read that wall of completely unrelated text.

As far as your subject line is concerned:

"Client ended hourly contract to avoid paying manually added hours."

Clients are billed and charged for all hours from the previous week on Monday afternoon UTC. That is the case for tracked hours and manual time up to the weekly limit! There is simply no such thing as "ending the contract to avoid paying" anything.

Closing the contract does not change that fact.

Does that answer query or can you shorten you question into one or two sentences?
