I got my first client on Upwork, I agreed to complete the task on two milestones. Everything was going well and I was providing updates regularly to keep the client up to date and they were happy with the progress.
When I indicated I was done with the first milestone they now wants to cancel the contract with no reason given at all.
How should I go about this? Should I accept the request to cancel or refuse?

No, your first client left you a 1-star feedback last year...

You can't refuse a client's request to cancel. If a client no longer wishes to work with you, you can't force them to do so.
All you can accept or decline is the request to return the funds in escrow. If you
refuse to return the escrow fees, a dispute will be created.
How much money is in escrow?
