Client hired me but hasn't assigned any work

Hi all,

So, I landed a client who hired me for a test run. She paid me and everything for the trial piece and she told me she would like to work with me. Now, this was somewhere in June. Two months have passed since. I have messaged her but she keeps telling me she's getting things together, etc. I messaged her a while back as well and she didn't reply although she's active on the platform. I can see she's still hiring people but I don't understand what's happening. She has good reviews so I know she's not a scammer. What do I do? Do I keep waiting? Will this affect my profile in any way if she keeps me waiting for another month? I'm beyond stressed right now. She's paying very well which is why I haven't ended the contract yet.

This is a complete nothing burger. You are stressing over absolutely nothing.

Thank you for the blunt replies. I guess I needed that. I've never had a client keep me waiting this long to start a project so that's why my head was beginning to explode! It's good to know that I'm making a mountain out of a molehill

It could be that she's not going to hire you, but is too polite to say it straight out. It could also be that she's busy with other projects and hasn't had time for the job she tested you for.

Whatever you do, don't keep messaging her. Clients will get back to you if and when they want to. If she gets annoyed at you for messaging her, she could close the contract and give you a bad review.

That's a fair assessment. I guess I'll wait.

I have 6 active contracts 3 of them are 40 hour limit, but none of them assigning the jobs, I am afraid if the next client who wanted to hire me may think I am fully engaged and may not deliver his work on time and may reject my proposal ?
