Client inactive after job posting

I have bid on many jobs and seen that most of clients doesn't show up after they post their jobs. It is very annoying as my bids are wasted just like that. Proposal automatically gets closed without any bid refund that is not at all acceptable. Upwork should refund bids if job expires or closes.As a freelancer why should i suffer loss because of such clients. Please get the solution for it asap.

I am experiencing the same situation this year.

However, the connects of such bids are refunded when such job posts are automatically closed by Upwork.

As per my knowledge, upwork is refunding the connects when clients cancels the job not when it is expired or automatically closed.
