Hello Upwork Community,
I am in a situation where I am feeling that whatever you earn on Upwork can be taken back anytime. Today I receive a refund request from one of my client after 3 Months. I wrote a ICO Whitepaper for him and now after 3 months, he said that he don't need this whitepaper and requesting the complete refund. The content once delivered, can't be taken back. I work hard for this project and even provide him in different versions.
He is threatening me that if I will not approve the refund request, he will report me to Upwork. I really work hard to achieve the good status on Upwork and one client can ruin my status on Upwork. I reply to my clients from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m to achieve this rating and its really feel bad if one client ruin that status.
Please advice me the step to tackle with the situation like this...

Report you for what?
Simply respond politely and firmly that you are not prepared to refund and wish him all the best with his future endeavours.
The client can not dispute as it is more than 30 days after the funds were paid.
is the contract closed? I have to say I think you may be a little ambitious with the jobs you take on which is reflected in both your feedback and your JSS, but this client had 3 months to figure it out and now it's too late.

Wouldn't any normal human be embarrassed to suggest something like this?
"Excuse me. I ate filet mignon at this restaurant 3 months ago, but I am no longer satisfied with that meal. I would like a full refund."
"I bought these skis 3 months ago but with the warm weather, the slopes are now closed. I would like a full refund."
"You babysat my 3-year-old daughter 3 months ago. She has been acting up lately. I would like a full refund."
"I approved and paid for this freelance work project that you did 3 months ago. I don't need to use the work any more. I would like a full refund."

Thanks for your reply 🙂 Even I had the same feeling! This is the scenario when new people start interacting with us suddenly.

Not only: "Excuse me. I ate filet mignon at this restaurant 3 months ago, but I am no longer satisfied with that meal. I would like a full refund."
"The filet is not in my body anymore so I cannot return it, but I still need my money back!" 🙂

lol, may be he wants full refund because the "filet mignon" is still in his body and believe me, in that case, it must not be that "mignon" (cute).
Thanks Preston for making me laugh!

You babysat my daughter, but she is grown up now. I want a full refund.
