Client is expecting free of cost project estimation document

 Hi All,

 If some client is expecting free of cost project estimation and analysis document, They will request that i am biding for big project, i have to share this document with my end client.

Creating project estimation and analysis document, It will take few hours of time. But they will expect this task should be done free cost as interview process.

is the good client do like this ?  what should we have to do ?

Hi Chandradrev,

Thank you for reaching out to us. It is totally up to you whether to charge the client or not for this. We always advise freelancers to not provide work for projects that haven't been started yet but if the consultation requires a few hours of work, you'll have to communicate this with the client. Again, it's up to you how you will negotiate it with them.

It’s best practice that freelancers don’t provide work for projects that haven't started yet. Client and the freelancer can interview and assess the skills needed and the scope of work, but clients can’t request any part of the work the freelancer is actually being interviewed for to be done for free. If you come across any activity that isn’t allowed by Upwork TOS, please flag it as inappropriate for our team to review.
