Client is inviting me to join their team

I am a freelancer and I have a client who I have worked with through Upwork in the past.

They have formed a new company and set up an Upwork team. They want to hire me through Upwork.

They sent me an invitation to join their team, but the link in the invitation just takes me to my "find work" page and I can't see anything about the team.

I don't think I should be joining their team, right? They should just send me a project invitation. Or can they directly propose a contract? I don't know how this is supposed to work from the client side of things, so I'm having trouble advising them on what to do.

How can they directly hire me for their project? Thanks!

Hy Robert:) As a freelancer on Upwork, it is possible for a client to directly hire you for their project without joining their team. The client can send you a project invitation through Upwork, which you can accept and then begin work on the project.

Regarding the team invitation, it is possible that there may be an issue with the link provided in the invitation. The client can try sending the invitation again, or alternatively, they can search for your profile on Upwork and send a project invitation directly to you.

If the client wishes to continue with the team approach, they can create a new team invitation and ensure that the link provided is functioning correctly. Alternatively, they can send a direct contract proposal to you, which you can review and accept if it meets your requirements.

It may be helpful for you to communicate with the client to clarify their requirements and determine the best approach for both parties.
