Hello,
I have received a contract from a client on Friday, May 31, 2024. I finished the assignment on the same day, sent to the client via messages, and still haven't received anything back.
- How long should I wait until the client responds?
- Should I submit the work for payment or wait for the client to approve?
- If I don't receive any payment, how do I get compensated for this assignment?

If you don't receive payment, you won't be compensated otherwise. Right now, you are not using the fixed price contract properly. If you submit the work without using the Submit work button, the client has the work. If he closes the contract, you will receive a request to refund the client. You can agree or dispute. See the link I provided you.

1 Your choice.
2 Sure if you completed it. You will be paid after 14 days with no client action. Client able to request changes within that time if needed.
3 No.

Can you please elaborate on why you said, "No" to this question?

You wont be compensated if wont send works. You can agree this with client only, for example if your job not 100% fit client's needs.

I cannot access your account. If you go in your Manage Finance tab, Overview - Upwork you should see the amount in review.

That only shows the hourly, not fixed. If the 14 days are up without the client responding after I submitted the milestone, will it show up in the overview?

I have 2 contracts. One hourly and one fixed. Here is a screenshot of the fixed. Does this work?

All the details are on the screenshot. How did you manage to get paid in your previous fixed price contracts?

Clients approved the work when I sent it to them via messages in Upwork. I didn't know how the process worked. They approved all payments and milestones on their end.

How do I go about accepting a contract then there is no further instructions or tasks given but the start day is today? Client seems unresponsive. Should I just start without doing anything?

Hello Miko,
You can still accept a contract without instructions. Sometimes, I have clients that don't provide instructions until you have accepted the contract since some of the instructions and possible attachments is their information.
