Client payment not appearing in my account, although my client has already paid the milestone

Hi there, 

I have completed a milestone today, and my client has paid me this morning and sent through a message and invoice receipt as proof. However, the payment has still not appeared on my Upwork account (it is now 12 hour since the payment was made) and I am unable to access the 'Get paid now' button so that I can get paid as soon as possible, as I need the money. My preferred payment method is Payoneer, and I have contacted them about this but they are unable to expedite my payment until it shows up in my Upwork account. Could someone please advise me as to how I can access the payment? I cannot find any solution to this via m profile.

Hi Sarah Josephine,

 

When a client releases a milestone payment, it goes through a 5-day security period, and will show under the Pending tab of your Overview page (Reports > Overview). During the 5-day security period, it gives the system time to process and clear the payments. Please read this article for more information about Fixed-Price Protection. Thank you!

Hello,

As I have completed a *milestone*, I understand that I should be able to
receive the payment *as soon as possible once my client has made the
payment. *

I can see that the payment is pending in my account, but the payment is not
yet available. I would like to know how quickly this payment will be
processed - again, as it is a milestone, I understand that I can request to
be paid immediately via Payoneer.

I have tried to contact Payoneer again about this, but they have said they
cannot release the payment until it is cleared by Upwork.

If you could please advise me how to proceed, and how quickly I can access
the payment, I would really appreciate it. *I do not think I should have to
wait 5 days to receive the payment as it is a milestone that has been
completed. *I am happy to pay an additional fee for processing the payment
as soon as possible, if needed.

I am attaching screenshots of the payment that has been made by my client,
along with the invoice, to assist in processing the payment as soon as
possible.

I would greatly assist with your urgent assistance with this matter, as I
have now tried several times to resolve it.

Many of us do not think we should have to wait five days to receive payment for a completed milestone, especially as the funds have been escrowed. Alas, it doesn't matter what we think. Upwork is entitled to set this policy as it sees fit. It's worth spending a little time familiarizing yourself with the payment processes to avoid this kind of rude surprise.
