Hi there,
I have completed a milestone today, and my client has paid me this morning and sent through a message and invoice receipt as proof. However, the payment has still not appeared on my Upwork account (it is now 12 hour since the payment was made) and I am unable to access the 'Get paid now' button so that I can get paid as soon as possible, as I need the money. My preferred payment method is Payoneer, and I have contacted them about this but they are unable to expedite my payment until it shows up in my Upwork account. Could someone please advise me as to how I can access the payment? I cannot find any solution to this via m profile.

Hi Sarah Josephine,
When a client releases a milestone payment, it goes through a 5-day security period, and will show under the Pending tab of your Overview page (Reports > Overview). During the 5-day security period, it gives the system time to process and clear the payments. Please read this article for more information about Fixed-Price Protection. Thank you!

Many of us do not think we should have to wait five days to receive payment for a completed milestone, especially as the funds have been escrowed. Alas, it doesn't matter what we think. Upwork is entitled to set this policy as it sees fit. It's worth spending a little time familiarizing yourself with the payment processes to avoid this kind of rude surprise.
